With Kelly Murray
Welcome to the second edition of our ‘Faces of Forkway’ series, where we shine a spotlight on the incredible people who make Forkway the company it is today. In our first edition, we met Charlotte Phipps from our Amersham Depot. This time, we’re heading to our Solent depot to catch up with Kelly Murray.
How long have you worked at Solent Forklifts, and what is your current role?
I have worked at Solent Forklifts for 12 years now, I am the Branch Supervisor.
What do you enjoy most about working at Solent Forklifts?
I enjoy everything about working here, the customer contact and building relationships with team members and customers alike.
How has your role evolved since you first started with the company?
My role has definitely changed over the years! I started at Solent as a parts controller. Then as people left the business I moved into Service and hire. The changes in roles gave me a lot more experience, which I am now able to pass on to others.
What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced in your time here, and how have you overcome them?
The biggest challenge we have had here is people leaving roles and losing customers, we have since got a lot of customers back now and have the right team in place. We overcome these by providing better service and keeping customers in the loop.
What’s your favourite film?
I love the 80’s movies but my overall favourite is the Star Wars films. ( I still have all the Ships & figures)
What’s your favourite meal?
A nice Fillet Steak (medium) and chunky chips.
Favourite Musician?
This is a hard one. Now, Leon Bridges & 90’s Music.
