With Chris Fletcher
Our ‘Faces of Forkway’ series is where we shine a spotlight on the incredible people who make Forkway the company it is today. This time, we sit down with Chris Fletcher from our Amersham depot.
How long have you been at Forkway and what is your current role?
This is my 20th Year at Forkway and my current role is Area Sales Manager
How has your role evolved since you first started with the company?
I have worked in a few different roles within Forkway over the last 20 years from parts/sweeper upper to service to sales so it has naturally evolved whilst gaining experience in different fields.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
Having a customer put their trust in me and then find them a solution that not only works for them but brings them value that they didn’t have before.
What is one thing you’ve learned since joining Forkway that you didn’t know before?
Being from the South, that Leeds is the centre of the universe
What do you think is the biggest challenge facing the industry today?
Money, companies/people are more frugal with their finances and I can only see it getting worse and worse.
What do you like to do in your free time outside of work?
Spending time with my family travelling to new places and now trying to keep fit
Do you have any hobbies or interests that you’re passionate about?
I fairly recently discovered Pickleball which I am now obsessed with
What’s your go-to comfort food?
Eating and food is a hobby for me so this is a hard one but I would probably say Thai or Indian even though I don’t get to have it that much these days.
If you could switch jobs with anyone for a day, who would it be and why?
Within Forkway – Lewis Fox (that’s mine, I’ll buy that, mine, that’s mine). Outside of Forkway – Elon Musk because he basically does what he wants.
What’s something on your bucket list that you hope to accomplish soon?
Within Forkway, to gain more responsibility and in my personal life to get to my goal weight loss (and to play pickleball with Richard Branson on Necker Island)
